Much Obliged- The Bombay Team

It was an exhilirating culinary experience indeed.  The collaboration of  Chef Negi  and Chef Eshaam created such wonderful dishes well enjoyed by all. Video below will show you what the experience was like with the great food, live gazals and of course , wonderful guests.



To celebrate the  success of  the Indo-Pak Food Fest, The Bombay crew was treated to a  special lunch by Mr Sunil Marya- Marco Polo Vice President , together with Executive Chef  Mark Rozario and F&B Manager, Vinay Kumar. Well done Team!


A big thank you to all who came and experienced our very first Indo-Pakistan Food Fest. We promise to come up with more culinary treats for all the epicureans out there.

FESTIVE OFFERS AT MARCO POLO HOTEL



Tis the season to be jolly!

And Dubai is primed and ready for all the festivities.This year Dubai is targeting a new world record for the worlds' largest fireworks display for New Year's Eve especially when it has so much  reason to celebrate after the big win to host Expo 2020. Celebrate Diwali at The Bombay!

 
Known as the biggest and of course brightest of all Hindu festivals,Diwali , The Festival of Lights is finally here. Parsi Food Festival



For Indian food connoisseurs, our  Parsi Food Festival is an opportunity to savour delectable Parsi originals that are reminiscent of the golden Mumbai-Parsi times. 

This festival conducted by Marco Polo Hotel annually in the month of March is celebrated close to the celebration of the Iranian New Year or Nawrouz. The festival relives the dishes that were popular during the golden Mumbai time where many Parsi Indians would gather with families to dine together and partake the best dishes prepared with care and dedication.

From March 20 till 30th, The Bombay, the award winning Indian restaurant at Marco Polo will allow you to try these dishes during lunch and dinner. So come over with the whole family and take a culinary journey back in time to celebrate the golden times of an illustrious Indian era.

Supah Chef 2013

 Its all about the ladies here at Marco Polo this merry month of March! Having just celebrated International Womens Day last March 8th and Mothers Day coming up on the 21st , we thought it 'd be the perfect time for the annual Supah Chef Cooking Competition.

On March 23, Marco Polo Hotel will once again host the  gathering of the  most  creative women cooks of Dubai  for this one-time cook-off contest which will pit the cooking talents of women from different nationalities , 18 years and above.

The competition which will take place at the ballroom, will see food focused women who will try to create the most unique and healthy chicken dish. Major prize for this event is  a banquet party for 30 friends catered by Marco Polo at any venue of their choice in Dubai. Runner up winners will also win exciting prizes. The new recipes that will stand out will be featured in the restaurant menu of The Bombay, which is the best part of the competition.

Rampuri Food Festival at The Bombay

Savour the fine flavors of cinnamon in the meat , taste that hint of sandalwood in the Baingan Ka Bharta............

 From the appetizers like the Sambhal Ki Seekh , the Paya Potil Shorba  or the Bhune Meve Ka Shorba with its subtle yet unique flavors, the Tehri  and Teh Biryani cooked in layers for hours over slow flame, these are just a preview of the magic being created in the kitchens of The Bombay, Marco Polo's Classic Indian Restaurant.
 
From 12th to 22nd December, we have invited over from India highly specialized "Bawarchis" for Marco Polo Hotel's first ever, Rampuri Food Festival. Marco Polo Welcomes Sushil Kumar





Marco Polo had the privilege of hosting India’s premier sportsman, Mr Sushil Kumar last 5th December 2012. Mr Kumar was here in Dubai as Guest of Honor at the BITS Sports Festival. 





 
Sushil Kumar is a World Champion wrestler from India who won the gold medal in the 66 kg freestyle competition at the FILA 2010 World Wrestling Championships, a silver medal in the Men's 66kg Freestyle Wrestling event at the 2012 London Olympics and a bronze medal in the Men's 66kg Freestyle Wrestling event at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, which made him the first Indian to win back to back individual Olympic medals. He received the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna - India's highest honour for sportspersons on July 2009 and on 3rd October 2010, Sushil Kumar was the final baton bearer who handed the Queen's Baton to Prince Charles in the Queen's Baton Relay for the 2010 Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony.





Of course, we cannot let him miss a sumptuous meal at TheBombay, our award winning Indian Restaurant.

Happy Diwali 2012

Diwali or Deepavali ,popularly known as the "festival of lights," is a five day festival which starts on Dhanteras, celebrated on thirteenth lunar day of Krishna paksha (dark fortnight) of the Hindu calendar month Ashwin and ends on Bhaubeej, celebrated on second lunar day of Shukla paksha (bright fortnight) of the Hindu calendar month Kartik. In the Gregorian calendar, Diwali falls between mid-October and mid-November.
Diwali is an official holiday in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Mauritius, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, Suriname, Malaysia, Singapore and Fiji. (Source:Wikipedia)

It is also a celebration of life (good over evil) , spending time with loved ones and cleansing oneself in preparation of the year to come.
